Grizzlies celebrating tenth season with block parties

The Grizzlies are going to be prowling the Mid-South in September, celebrating a decade of playing basketball in the Bluff City. Here are the details from the Grizz:

The Memphis Grizzlies are inviting fans to get together for the Tenth Season Round Town Tour.

The Tenth Season Round Town Tour will take place throughout Memphis during the entire month of September at Block Parties and festivals to get Grizz Nation excited about the upcoming 2010-11 season, presented by Pepsi.

Grizzlies fans of all ages are invited to join Grizzlies players, coaches, executives, Grizz and the Grizz Girls tip-off the start of the season in a festive setting at Block Parties that will be held at a variety of Memphis locations.

White Pickup wanted for catalytic converter theft

Olive Branch police want you to keep your eyes peeled for a white truck that may be connected to the theft of a catalytic converter on Wednesday.

Police say one guy acts as a lookout while his partner wiggled under a car parked in the Target parking lot. Police say surveillance video caught the white pickup truck leaving the scene. Officers say they think the truck is a GMC Sonoma.

Officials celebrate new hospital to be built in Olive Branch

OLIVE BRANCH, MS (WMC-TV) - Representatives of Methodist Healthcare showed off their site Wednesday for a future hospital set to be built in Olive Branch.

The facility, to be built at Highway 78 and Bethel Road, has been the dream of local officials for over a decade.

"Our citizens need it," Senator Merle Flowers said. "We've been needing healthcare on this side of the county for a long time, and this will be the second largest economic development in our county."

Widow of football legend joins forces with Southaven sleep lab to save lives

One of the most celebrated players in the history of football, NFL Hall of Famer Reggie White died suddenly at age 43 from obstructive sleep apnea. His widow, Sara White has joined Opus Medical Management in an effort to contribute to the health and well-being of the public and to potentially spare others the devastating loss of a loved one to a lethal sleep disorder.

The newly formed partnership - Reggie White Medical Enterprises is a multifaceted healthcare management company that’s taking sleep medicine to the next level. Sara and company president Derek Denman agree that to maximize wellness, thorough follow up care and prevention is vital. To achieve this, the company has joined forces with an in-house provider of CPAP therapy and implemented a cardiopulmonary rehabilitation center.

The company recently opened a new sleep facility on Guthrie Rd. just off Airways in Southaven.
