US Postal Service public meetings to discuss MS facility operations | Business

The U.S. Postal Service has scheduled public meetings next week on local post offices in four north Mississippi communities.

According to WTVA-TV in Tupelo officials will discuss whether to reduce operations at the facilities or possibly close them and consolidate the service with nearby post offices.List of public meetings on possible closure of post offices in Mississippi. Start date is Monday, Nov. 26.

• On Monday, Greenwood Springs will be the topic of a 6 p.m. meeting at the Splunge Volunteer Fire Department.
• On Tuesday, USPS officials will hold a public hearing on the Van Vleet Post Office at 6 p.m. at Van Vleet Volunteer Fire Department.
• On Wednesday, Derma will be the subject of the hearing at 6 p.m. at Derma City Hall.
• On Thursday, a meeting to discuss the Sherman Post Office at the Sherman Public Library at 6 p.m.
