Geoffrey Crawford joined the U.S. Army at the age of nineteen, and served his first tour of duty in Afghanistan. “Despite being scared and not knowing what to expect when I left for my first tour, I was still eager to serve my country,” said Crawford.
While serving his country, the Rust College Junior is also balancing classes at the university and will complete summer school, just before he leaves for Afghanistan. He says he will receive his Bachelor of Science in Biology/Chemistry in the spring of 2014, and wants to become a forensic investigator for the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI).
Crawford says he gets his inspiration to stay in school and continue to serve his country from his father and uncle, who both served in the military. Along with two Rust faculty members John House and Chiquita Walls.
