Hundreds of pro-life supporters took the steps at the Mississippi state capitol for a candlelight vigil Saturday night.

A number of supporters expressed concern over the possibility of the state's only abortion clinic in Jackson remaining open.

They said there are a number of pregnancy crisis clinics and alternatives for expecting mothers.

"We counsel them and many of them can make it. It's hard and the others, we help them. We help them with finances and resources and we encourage them. Also parenting skills," said Pro-life Mississippi President Dana Chisholm.

Pro-life supporters hope lawmakers will develop new laws to make abortion more difficult in the state.
